Lip tips for using Jane Iredale's Mineral Makeup
Thin lips:
Use a pencil or lip liner to define the outermost part of your lip line. Apply your lip color using a lip brush and blend into the lip liner.
Apply a light color eye shadow or the pink/white high lighter pencil on the center of lips over lipstick and spread slightly.
Don’t wear a very dark lip color; this will make
lips look smaller.
Full Lips:
Lip pencils are optional if you have full lips. You really don’t need one but if you like the look, soften edges with a Q-tip. Use lip colors with a matte finish, or very little gloss.
Uneven lips:
Use a pencil along the outermost part of your lip line on the smaller side and follow your natural lip line the rest of the way. Apply lip color using lip brush.
Lasting Lip Color/ Lip Gloss:
Lip Color: Apply thin layer of Absence (oil control product) over entire lip. Dust a layer of your Loose Powder/Pressed Powder over entire lip. Use your pencil to draw your lip shape filling in entire lip. Apply lip color using lip brush. Blot by pressing your lips together on a tissue and apply another coat of your lip color. (This won’t leave your lips feeling dry the way powdering your lips between can.) Apply thin layer of lip gloss.
Lip Gloss: Apply thin layer of Absence over entire lip. Dust a layer of your loose powder/pressed powder over entire lip. Use your pencil to draw your lip shape filling in entire lip. Apply lip gloss.
How to keep lips from bleeding:
Matte formulas do not bleed as much as creamier lip colors and glosses. (See above- lasting lip color/lip gloss) Use your pencil to draw in your lip liner and dust your loose/pressed powder over lip liner, apply your lip color.
To achieve a pouty, sexy mouth, emphasize your top lip by dabbing just a touch of gloss in the center.
Using a lip liner:
Lip liners help give proper and defined outline to the lips. It stops the lip color from spreading outside the lip line. With the help of a lip liner you can get any desired lip shape. Define your lip outline first with the lip liner and then fill in the matching lip color.
Using a lip color:
The color of your lips changes the shade of the lip color. To get the original rich color, blend a liquid/powder make-up on your lips before you apply lip color. This helps in altering your lip line and makes your lip color last longer. To keep a well defined lip line, use the pointed tip of your lip color and outline your lip shape. Take the flat surface of your lip color and fill in the color.
